In Reverence
Yoga Home recognizes that it is located within the unceded territory of the Ute Peoples. The earliest documented peoples also include the Apache, Arapaho, Comanche, and Cheyenne. Truth and acknowledgment of the hardships and atrocities that many peoples have suffered on this soil are critical to building mutual respect and connection across all barriers of heritage and difference. By honoring the truth, we begin this effort to acknowledge what has been purposefully buried.
Even through forced relocation and land dispossession, we recognize that the land still holds the traditions, language, stories, and history of the Ute peoples. Today, Indigenous people from many Native nations reside here and continue to make significant contributions to our community. We give reverence to the Indigenous Peoples of the Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs areas, the protectors of Bhūmi (Our Mother Earth).
